    . One of a series of scrapbooks kept by Elaine Brockhouse, 91-year-old niece of William D. Pawley, who initiated the formation of the famous American volunteer group of airmen known as the Flying Tigers who supported China in World War II from an aircraft manufacturing and supply base he organized in India. He was a confidant of Presidents Truman and Eisenhower and U.S. ambassador to Peru and Brazil after World War II.
    The scrapbook is 9 X 12 in. and thick. Covers her freshman year with Trinity vs. Worcester Polytechnic Institute football program; Army vs. Stanford football program + ticket; actvities including Wellesley College theatre, jr. prom, concert series, junior show, tree day, crew races, dramatic association play, winter carousel, piano recital, dance group; 1949 Cotton Bowl program - University of Oregon vs. Southern Methodist + ticket; Harvard vs. Northeastern ice hockey program; sophomore prom; Boston University graduation program; Boston Braves vs. Cincinnati Reds baseball program + ticket, Kiss Me Kate program.
