    Description

Here is a scrapbook filled with various ephemera that belonged to a lady that served as a Staff Sergeant in the Women Army Air Corps during World War II. She moved to Southern California in 1948 and that is the year most of the items are from. The scrapbook contains mostly items from her civilian life. Huntington Park and Pasadena are a couple of cities that are represented. The scrapbook contains photographs (1948 Rose Parade, 1948 March of Dimes parade on Wilshire Blvd., etc.), many letters, including a letter she wrote to President Harry Truman and a response from the Housing and Home Finance Agency on his behalf, several programs from various local churches, ticket stubs, canceled checks, newspaper clippings, several "Food for Thot" pamphlets from Clifton's Cafeteria, correspondence/Prudential Insurance Co. letterhead, veteran and Civil Service paperwork, receipts, greeting cards, various
ephemera, handwritten World Series stuff, Michigan/USC football newspaper clipping, etc. There are also some photos taken during travel  (De Anza Hotel in Calexico, Kansas City & St. Louis). The album is quite large and heavy. The pages are crumbly. Some pages are loose and/or torn. The album has wear. It measures 14" x 12".
