Modern ГСШ/GSSh-01 6m2 active headphones of the Russian Military from the current issue Ратник/Ratnik program. This is the latest equipment and what Russian forces deployed to Syria would use. Designed to protect the wearer from hearing damage by dampening loud noises like gunshots without impairing hearing; even amplifying quiet sounds as desired. No knowledge of the Russian language is needed to operate, simply hold the central button for power and press the arrows for volume adjustment. Powered by a single AAA battery, specified to last not less than 72 hours of continuous use on a single battery.
Designed to be worn under the 6Б47 helmet, these have an adjustable mesh that should fit any head and works easily with hats and many other helmets. I manage fine with my glasses worn normally.
