is one of many patent-pending products by PAW International.  The Shower Wall Defender is a set of 2 crystal clear Acrylic fixtures that rest on the top lip of a one piece fiberglass tub and shower unit, in between the drywall and a compression shower rod (shower rod Not included; for demonstration only).  The shower rod firmly holds the Shower Wall Defender in place without tools or fasteners.  The large area disperses the pressure of the rod to prevent damage to the drywall, or any wall covering surrounding the shower.  With 20 times the area of a shower rod end, extra pressure can be applied with the rod without concern.  A step on the bottom aligns the curtain rod directly over the front of the tub, so your curtain hangs flush.    A “smiley” lip projects from the plate to give the rod extra support, and locates the bottom of the shower curtain and liner inches off the floor and tub.  The top of the tub is now supporting the weight of the shower rod instead of the drywall above the tub.  With the Shower Wall Defender, you could hypothetically do chin-ups and still exert far less stress on your walls than a normal compression shower rod.
