ROLLER SKATING RINK
CLUB STICKERS
, or DECALS, in two original Scrapbooks.
Yellow scrapbook with a 1930s collegiate cheerleader on the cover, with extensive names and doodling in ink. A drawing of the cartoon character
Moon Mullins
is on the back cover.
Written on the spine is
ANDERSON TOWNSHIP
(this is the Cincinnati, Ohio, area). The inside cover has a
certificate dated 1940
declaring the owner a member of the local
American Legion Skating Club
.
Wonderful selection of
Roller Skate Club
stickers from
all over the United States
, many in the Pennsylvania - Ohio area. In this book I counted 78 stickers, 4 of them loose, never mounted, including what is probably my favorite graphic - for the
Kansas City Jayhawk Rink
(see photo 1). There are also 2 fabric patches in the book (also in photo 1), one with original sticker on the back for the
VELVA-SHEEN MFG. CO.
stating that it is in compliance with the
Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938
. This scrapbook is
not full
, there are a lot of empty pages in the back, including an unopened package (with great graphics) of
Lucky Star Filler Paper
. This book measures 11" by 9" by 1 1/4" thick.
The second album is marked
Photographs
and contains about 76 stickers as well as two metal lapel pins, one for Harrisburg, Pa, and the other a roller skate with wings.
This album also has a few empty pages. It measures 7" by 10" by 1 1 /4" thick.
Scrapbooks in good, clean, vintage condition. NO mustiness. Paper shows expected signs of age - some tears and discoloration to pages. Almost all stickers are mounted and in good shape, a few are torn, seems like before they were mounted in the scrapbook. The two fabric patches discolored from glue on the reverse.
