    Description

Vintage Scrapbook of 1920s and 1930s BALLET DANCERS
Filled with old magazine clippings featuring both famous and unknown dancers on the ballet stage.
This scrapbook is falling apart.  The spine has disconnected from most of the binding, and most pages are loose.  The old black paper these clippings are pasted to is disintegrating.
However, this scrapbook is also PACKED with a ton of unique images of 1920s and 1930s ballet dancers from Margorie Alton to Gilda Ray.
All sizes vary from very small to entire page.  Some have separated from the pages, and many have small tears or other damage.
But the images outweigh any physical flaws.  These are all magazine clippings (with no attributions) cut and pasted on the black pages.  The cover is embossed with "Postcards", so the pages might not have been quite right for this project.
Many clippings have captions included or pasted on, and are all cut in unique shapes.  Dancers appear in all kinds of different poses from a huge variety of sources.
There are approximately 78 pages, all disintegrating and you get black dust on your fingers as you leaf through it.
Also included is a 5 x 8.5" photo of a woman in a grass skirt.  On the back is written:  1944 - Aletta Joyce - Hulland Hutch (not sure about the spelling.)
    It measures 11 1/2" x 10" x 2".
